What kind of camera do you use?
I shoot with a Cannon 5d mark ii. The majority of the time with this 50mm lens or my 35mm. I like fixed lenses.
How do you edit your pictures for your blog?
I edit in Photoshop LightRoom + on my phone with VSCO presets!
What are your favorite photo editing apps?
VSCO takes the cake, but I am working on some presets. For now, if you want to know exactly how I edit my photos, you’ll find a step by step guide in my e-book right HERE.
What shade of lipstick are you wearing?
I’m a sucker for anything made by FRESH. It’s like a tinted chapstick so it’s moisturizing + doesn’t get all up on your grill. AKA your two front teeth. Here are a couple posts with my go to shades. 1 | 2 | 3
Where do you shop for boys?
A little bit here, there + everywhere along the way. A few favorite stops are: Zara, Target, Nortstrom + Peek Kids. Can I hire you to take our family photos?
I often wish the answer were yes. But unfortunately this season of life is focused solely on raising my family + being a mother so I am not taking any clients at this time. Sorry!
Any recommendations for family photos?
We recommend Sami Jo Photography. And by we I mean Jon, Jonah, Riggins + myself! She has become such a dear friend but her talent is unmatched in our opinion. Honest to goodness, she is a complete ray of sunshine. Sami is amazing with cranky kids + makes you feel comfortable in any setting. Where did you get your gold watch?
I searched + searched + searched for the perfect gold watch. I found it with the help from a stranger in an elevator who was wearing it so I’m happy to pay the tip forward anytime someone asks — It’s the Nixon Cannon. Yes, all four of my sisters + my mom have the exact same one. It’s simple, timeless (oxymoron, ha) not blingy + really goes with everrrrythang. Men’s section for the win!

Any advice on building a following on social media?
Be YOURSELF! Believe in yourself! I think it’s important to establish a strong support system in real life (separate from virtual life) that you trust whole-heartedly with your strengths + weakness so that they can remind you or pick up the slack at any given time if things get a little crazy online. Set weekly goals that are attainable. Do what you love! Not what you think everyone wants to see or read. Passion is contagious in every shape + form. Figure out who you are, what your mission is, why you love the specific social media outlets you share on + write it all down! You’ll recognize growth if you’re not obsessed with it. Fill your time with productive stuff + work your tail off to produce your best work.
